Default when your opponent knows the value of stealing/restealing

when your opponent knows the value of stealing
and restealing how often do you play your hands
against them any differently?

one example would be you open raise from the c/o with ATs.
your opponent who you know, knows that you know the value
of stealing. he also knows you may do this with any two
cards. he raises you a considerable amount more. you put
in 3BB he put in 8BB more from the sb. assume just
calling would be half your stack. how often do you play
this differently than if an unknown made this play?

now reverse the situation, you are in the sb. a player you
know knows the value of stealing and raises from the c/o.
you hold absolute rags. how deep do the levels of he knows
you know he knows you know he knows become? if you believe
he may call with a medium holding because he is aware you
may be on a steal, do you still play back because you also
know he is capable of folding his bluff?

how much of a difference does this make if its midway
through a MTT, or at the bubble? what if you both middle
of the pack but, if you bust him you will be in the top 10?

often times i find myself calling with less than i
ordinarily would when playing with someone i believe to be a
good tournament player. often times i find myself in
trouble, or the play just not working out the way i thought
it might.

here's an example. i was sitting on about 8BB just
entering the money of a small mtt. i was in 15th of 17
remaining players. 1st paid $500 10-18 paid $45.00.

my BB folds to tournament CL on the button who raises 3xBB.
SB folds, I have A3o. I believe if I push in my remaining
5BB I will get instantly called 95% of the time. I also
realize my hand cannot dominate, and anything he holds has a
pretty good chance. 3 weeks ago this was an instant fold
for the scared me. i would have folded and waited for a
time to put all my chips in cold, or pick up a real hand. i
believe he is raising with any two cards. i am willing to
accept a 60% chance to start accumulating a stack for the
final table and make a real run at 1st. he ended up having
KQ, flopping a fullhouse and turning quads but thats besides
the point
