Default What would it take for you to quit online poker?

For me if Party ever goes the route of Pokerroom and Pacific and starts micro raking the 2/4 and above games. Also if they try to raise the rake close to a bricks and mortar sites rates, considering the games are way tougher than the same limit at a casino. If Party buys out Empire and ends their affiliate deals I may leave Party.....

The poker world doesn't revolve around Party.

quitting party would be almost like quitting poker for me as how many large sites are there? I don't play online poker for fun (or BM limit for that matter). So if they are fleecing me to the point where I am winning jack squat, I don't see the point in playing. I already have seen about 150 a month getting robbed out of my pockets due to their .5 raise in December of 03'......

Stars doesnt have games? Full tilt is growing exponentially every month, UB has some decent action, the world certainly wouldnt end without Party.

If I won $3 million or something in a major live event I would strongly consider not even bothering with online poker very much.

I do enjoy playing...but mostly I play because it's my source of income.
If my income were taken care of then I certainly wouldn't feel the 'need' or 'obligation' to play nearly as much as I do (or even 'at all' really).

I mean, maybe I would be all stir-crazy and bored and then play again...but I think the chances of me travelling more and playing the occasional live event while almost never playing online again would be much higher.

I don't know...maybe I would take the big roll and develop and interest in beating the 50/100 or 100/200 games even though I'm fairly certain I would be a losing player at those limits.
but I think I could find other ways to challenge myself in life.

as far as 'how BAD would the games or the rake need to be to consider quitting?'
If I determined that the games were -EV for me (or not enough +EV) and/or my bankroll was getting clobbered I would have virtually no hesitation or problem to take up a 'real' job again...deciding what the hell I would want to do would be a bit tricky though.

There's no way i would continue playing this silly game if it weren't +EV.
