Default Re: Ruling question, string bet or no?

FWIW, just to avoid to very situation, I always say "Make it X" instead of "raise" when I play NL. That way there's no confusion.

what if a player announces raise, puts out the amount of the call, then in a second motion goes back for the amount of the raise.

you see this all the time in tournaments on tv, but it would also seem ripe for angle shooting.

i saw a guy in a wpt event bet the flop, other guy says raise, sits still and stares the guy down for a few minutes before announcing how much. i didn't like it.

i've seen it multiple times in other events, but it always just seemed that they were doing it out of convenience and not angle shooting.
