multitabling higher limits

goat and ike write good. i agree with what they both said.

1 - big difference between 2/4 and 3/6 and 5/10 is the blind structure, it definitely affects the games, and you shuold understand how and why. particularly shorthanded.

2 - I sometimes 8 table the party 30 games short if I can't find higher games - just use 2 2001 fps and a decent computer (whole setup maybe 1500 these days)

3 - goat's point about limits getting tougher on avg as you move up is exactly correct. basically figure roughly a limit avg vpip of 35-37% at .5/1 up to 27 or so at 30/60 full table, with a 1-2% decrease per limit change.

Keep in mind that stox is a freak of nature. I tried to 8-table the 15 game after successfully 4-tabling and it sent me a on long, destructive spiral.

Btw you dont have to play poker on dell 20.1" LCDs. There are plenty of decent CRTs if you've got the desk space. For those of plus already playing 15/30+, it's mostly a worthwhile investment, but at 3/6, that's a LOT of big bets. (check IG and the new computer help forum for specifics)

ROI is a weird way to analyze the profitability of poker games. Its not really clear how much you are "investing" as you can stop playing whenever you want and the money is highly liquid.

my personal preference for analyzing my play is hourly earn. this is a very useful figure for me, and I think a good metric for others. I would almost go so far as to say hourly earn is the best way to judge a poker player's abilities (in all facets of the game), or to dcided "who is a better player" when forced to make such a decision.

I've long tried to equate limits and earn rates between SNGs, MTTs, NL cash games and Limit cash games.

what kind or roll and earn would an elite 215 player make?
10/20 NL cash games?
all big MTTs?
30/60 multitabler?

and please put "fun" or "enjoyment" aside when making this analysis.

I bought a Samsung 213T monitor which I love. However, the best I can do is 3-table the 30 game and 2 table the 50-100 or the 1-2. Any more than this, my game deteriorates rapidly and my brain feels like I am back in school working on Rule Against Perpetuities problems.
