Several years ago, I spent a Christmas`in Atlantic City. It wasn't packed but there was plenty of action. Many horseplayers hit the casinos on Christmas night as all the tracks are closed.

The poker rooms will be full. Last Christmas Eve I spent at the Mirage poker room. It was packed.

The Christmas Eve before that I got sucked into spending six late evening/early morning hours at the Cannery poker room (they were giving away a free jacket for six hours of play).

I'm not a complete degenerate. Seriously.

Day and afternoon will be very dead. The highway from LA will be bumper to bumper. Once the LA crowd starts arriving it will fill up fast and stay full until New Years.

We did Xmas weekend at vegas last year. Absolutelty awesome. Plenty of people without being overcrowded and almost no kids. Didn't have a problem finding games either at Excalibur or Luxor. Plus the rooms were pretty cheap for xmas eve, xmas day (before the crowds came in for New Years). Left the day after Xmas and breezed back home to SoCal but the traffic into Vegas was bumper to bumper all the way from Barstow (going the other direction ). That was the start of a new "family" tradition as we're trying to hit vegas that weekend every year (unfortunately didn't make it for this year).

I'll be arriving there on Christmas day also (staying for just a few days, leaving before New Year's). Any suggestions on where to play that evening? I'll be staying at the Orleans, off the strip. If they happen to run their tournament that evening, I'll probably hit that. Otherwise... ?

I heard that in AC Christmas evening is fairly lively. I heard that during the day it was not that quiet with Jews, Muslims, and orientals who had nothing to do with their day off. Not to stereotype, but I think you could find easier pickings than playing those ethnic groups.

The only time Ive ever gone was during Christmas. I love the fact that it's dead.. Although im sure you will find some action at the bellagio. Lots of gamblers including myself are Jewish.
