Default Texas Station Poker Room Opinions please

Heading to Vegas for a week again and Alladin no longer has Poker Room rates So I thought I try the Tecas Station as close to a bunch of Golf Courses I want to play.

Anyone know what the actions like?

Looking 4/8 or 5/10

When I played there last week, they had a few 4-8's with a 1/2 kill.

FWIW, Fiesta is right next door and Santa Fe (one of my fav's) a couple of miles up Rancho.

Best of Luck

Howard

PS, If the room (Texas) is a little dead when you are there.......There should be plenty of action at Santa Fe (knock wood, YMMV).

2/4 and 4/8 are the only limit games that are regular games.

Hi Lozen,

They get 4-8, 2-4 and baby blind no-limit everyday.

I've played 6-12 (1/2 kill) here many times but it has not gone lately.

Tonight they had a pot-limit Omaha game with 1 & 3 blinds.

Mostly expect no-limit, 4-8 & 2-4 though (hold'em).

On a typical night, Santa Fe will have way more tables going then Texas Station (sort of what Green Valley did to Sunset Station).

While most (if not all) 4-8 limit & baby blind NL games around town are soft, Santa Fe seems to have Real juicy games IMHO, YMMV.

FWIW, Santa Fe has a Ladies only tournament Saturday mornings at 10:00 am. $25 with $10 rebuys. Last Saturday they had a field of 21 hotties.

I also rate the Santa Fe food court #1 in all of Vegas (for my taste). They also have a Memphis Championship BBQ (not in food court) that is my home away from home. Make sure you sign up for a Stations boarding pass and you'll be eating free Memphis BBQ before you know it.

They have a new multi-plex movie theater (which is the bomb), bowling, and a hidden gem of a steakhouse (Charcoal Room) and Mexican restaurant (Cabo's).

Btw, Texas has movies, steakhouse, etc (but NO Memphis BBQ) but I seem to like Santa Fe a LOT better. The poker room is nicer and more popular at Santa Fe.
But....give them both a look and have a good time in Vegas!

Best Wishes

Howard

Texas Station has a quality poker room. I've been a few times. The dealers are generally very good, and there is one particular dealer there who is fast as lightning and one of my favorite dealers in Vegas. Competition is mostly locals from the North side of town, and the $4/8 half kill game is probably the most popular. You will find plenty of action there at this limit. I wouldn't call the place an acquarium, but the competition is on par with comparable locals poker rooms.

The poker room is well lit, with excellent spacing between the tables. I have had all the info (pics, review, etc.) for the poker room loaded on my pda for months but I've been slacking and haven't added it to the site. There's usually very little interest from my website visitors in the out-of-the-way poker rooms that cater mostly to locals. One day I'll get around to adding it.

"The dealers are generally very good..."

Hi Doug,

I agree. On a recent visit......

As I was walking to my table, I was looking at a cocktail girl's big pair and somehow dropped an entire (full) rack of chips on the floor. I had never done that one before.

Anyway, employees came out of nowhere to help gather my runaway chips. I was shocked and amazed that all 100 chips were located and returned to their proper rack.
Some great dealers in that room!

On the downside, I had an older gruff female dealer freak out on me for a chip rolling into her tray when I raised. I think it happened twice in the down (runaway chip) and she just LOST IT!

I told her "No need to freak out sister."

Then she really lost it!

Oh well.

I was told later that she was just having a real bad day. All in all though, I think they have some fantastic dealers in there. And GREAT cocktail girls!

Best Wishes

Howard
