Bottom set on a four flush board against a rock
From memory,
Villain is the biggest rock in the game. Definition of nut peddler, but will limp the appropriate hands. Edit: Effective stacks are $100. Hero is BB with 22. Two limps to villain in MP2, he limps, one more limp behind, SB folds, Hero checks. Flop [2h, 8h, 9h] Hero bets $5, two folds, Villain raises to $18, 1 fold, Hero calls. Turn [Kc] Hero Checks, Villain bets $25, Hero calls. River [Ah] Hero pushes... |

Re: Bottom set on a four flush board against a rock
I assume you want to fold his 88 or 99, right. I wish we knew your stack sizes so we knew how much the push was for. I think he probably folds big hands and small (<10) flushes so this play is probably slightly +EV.

Need approx stack sizes to even consider thinking about the move.

Re: Bottom set on a four flush board against a rock
Villain has about $55 left if my calculations are right. I think a villain as tight as you say folds every hand that doesn't have the Qh, or Jh. This play should should work. I just don't think I would have the stones to pull it off wiothout an incredible read about his rockishness. NH.

Re: Bottom set on a four flush board against a rock
Looks like he has the baby flush or JTs (he bets hard so it looks like he's trying to protect) since it is more likely than a set. I think he will fold the baby and definitely fold the set, well played. If he has QJs or QTs that's bad luck (KQs i pretty unlikely since he didn't raise preflop).
If your image is OK and you haven't pushed him around too much I think this move is + EV |
