Default vegas vs. local B+M\'s???

I was wondering if you guys could hook me up with a little advice...

I live about 3 minutes driving from my local B+M (artichoke joe's in San Bruno), and have found the games there to be the softest, most profitable games a guy could sit at. Largely filled with lotto players and the passive.

Anyway, i feel like my limit game has developed quite a bit from my playing, studying and reading all of your posts and advice since the last time i was in vegas (about 3 years ago when i was playing micro stakes no limit at the luxor)...

anyway, i'm due for vegas in a week, and i was wondering several things...

is the level of the comp much better from the B+M's???
i know games vary from table to table, but for the most part am i in for a passive/lotto treat like i usually am at the B+M's, or are they a more selective and aggressive bunch?

also, if you could recommend a favorite casino on the strip for both cardroom comfort/functionality, and game softness i'd appreciate it...
thank you in advance

I'm an LA player, and I thought that the vegas 4/8 at Bally's was about as soft as the LA 2/4.

Vegas poker tables are very good. At 4/8 and lower, don't be suprised to see people who are literally playing hold'em poker for the first time.

I play Art. Joes at the 3/6 tables weekly (thurs nights, PM me if you'd like to meet up sometime). In about 6 trips to AJ's I'm up a good amount (tho a lot of that is from a jackpot*). I found the games in vegas pretty similar, though I've had much less luck there. The best advice I got from this board is to go play the 2-6 spread game at excalibur, the entire table plays for Team lagtard, so you can really clean up. Having said that, I got bad beat for about $100 at the table over 2 hours.

*AJ does "no purchase neccessary" bad beat jackpots where the whole table gets part of the jackpot, just for folding crap when a players Aces full was cracked by quad aces, I made $360, pretty sweet.

thats great, i'm staying at the excalibur... i'll be sure to hit the 2-6 while my girl is watching "the thunder from down under" aussie beefcake show. lovely.

AJ's definitely has my vote for favorite card room in bay area, i doubt that anyone on this site who lives in bay area doesn't already know about it, but just in case we should shhhh.... keep some good comp away...

just wondering... did you ever play their "pass the buck" no limit tourney??? 60$ buy in, everyone gets a round buck, and when you eliminate a player you receive their buck... and when you eliminate a player that has knocked out several others you get the bucks that they have accumulated... at the final table all bucks are cashed in for 50 a piece... pretty fun, and a nice change of pace... i've been requesting for them to put that tourney back in the rotation for months... if you could ask them as well i'd appreciate it... i seem to be the only nut job asking from what they tell me

Can't say that I have, I work till 5pm, so I only play evenings, and it seems all their tourney's are in the morning. But yeah, between Bay 101, AJs and Lucky Chances, I prefer AJs , as its closer then LC to me and they got rid of the $3 button blind.

mirage is great for 3/6 - a lot of first timers. the monte carlo has a pretty fun 2/4 game going late at night. i also played 4/8 at the bellagio and did very well, (got lucky) but i was not impressed with the play there either. in general, vegas low stakes games are very comparable to those you'll find in your crappy local B&Ms.
