Trip Report (small)
So I made it down to Belterra on Friday night. Took 1.5 hours to get into the 10/20 game, another 30 minutes to get into the 15/30 (they spread one table of each, so I felt fortunate to only have to wait that long). The action at the 15/30 was good. Better early, but still ok when the two main donators left. Played until the game broke at 5 AM. Came back the next day and played in the 15/30 again and was pleased to find lots of action all around. Overall, the game was good, but nothing that I'd be willing to drive 2.5 hours for on a regular basis.
Positives in the room: Wait list is computerized. You also get a pager to alert you when a seat is ready. Lots of space between tables (there are 12 total) Non smoking room Shuffle Machines on each table (though some have problems) Negatives: Not a lot of high limit action (2 games at 10/20 & above on a Friday night doesn't seem to be promising for weeknight action). Overall, it's worth the occasional trip from Columbus, but nothing I can see making once a quarter or so... |
