Default Rakeback vs. Bonuses

Having played live for years, I am just getting ready to get started playing online.

I do not have accounts at any of the major sites and have researched bonuswhores.com for info. However, they make no mention of rakeback as I have read here. If I sign up for rakeback, do I also get the bonuses?

Refer to the classified ads.

Yes you still get bonuses. They do count against your rakeback, but it will never hurt to have rakeback.

I was told to keep one site as a rakeback site so when I get done whoring i can go back to this site and get the rakebacks. I was under the impression that in the short run whoring gave you more return.

It does in the short term. I believe that they are suggesting that you use the rakeback site after you've moved up in limits to the point where the rakeback is more valuable than the bonus you would get for the same amount of play. At the micros, rakeback is not signficant compared to bonuses, but for people who four-table 15-30, bonus money is not signficant compared to rakeback, for example. There is a breakeven point somewhere in there at which bonuses vs. rakeback is pretty much 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
