Default players using red at 4/8

Why oh why do the players at the trop feel the need to use red chips in the 2/4 and 4/8? I show up at the 4/8 with 2 racks of white, and a couple people make comments to their neighbors about it. Everyone else has a few stacks of red. As the game goes on, I cut out my bets into neat stacks and the dealer just has to pull them in. Meanwhile, the dealer has to make change for them on every bet, greatly slowing down the game. My injecting white into the game helps some, but it still sucks. (I put all the red chips I win aside and never ever bet them.) Maybe I just need to move to California.

I've played the 4/8 at Fozwoods a few times, and they won't let you use red. Yellow only. Thye won't let you use yellow on the $100 max NL rable either. White and Red and above.

There's nothing wrong with some red in a 4/8 game - maybe you've got $50 in red and the rest in white. I agree with you on the guys who have only red, though. Red in a 2/4 is ridiculous.

Let's not confuse people, shall we? THEY are the crab/regular/retirees
who do not like the DISEASE infested yellow chips in their 1-2 NL or
5/10 game...and the only time THEY...being the floor...will not allow
red chips in a "yellow chip game" is when they are short on a fill or
have a newly opened table to allow enough bank for subsequent
players. The $2 chips at Woods are only good in the poker-room,
that being said, I can't wait to take 8 racks of yellow into a 20/40
game.....

I played $4/8 at the Bellagio last year and bought chips at the table ($200). The chip runner brought back a rack of blue and a stack of red without even asking. seemed standard to me. If I lose track of how many bets went into the pot I find it easier to estimate with some reds in there than a huge pile of blues.

also it drives me nuts when it takes me a hand or two to get all my chips stacked after I drag a big one

at Canterbury they let you play with yellows or reds if you're coming in from another game but seems like as soon as they get in the pot the dealer changes 'em out for blues.

If I have a stack of red or 2 that is because I needed to chip up. When that happens it makes me very happy.

Ocean's 11 asked to chip me up a few times friday cause they were running out of blues.

My favorites are the beauties who need to "color up" if they have more than 4 stacks of chips. I think they just like the feeling of power it gives them to snap their fingers, and get a chiprunner answering their beck and call.

Since I started playing NL live I don't think I could stand those low limit games. Tried the 6/12 at the Borg twice, I definitly think I could beat it, however watching dealers give 4 chip change to a bunch of players each hand really slows it down.

Besides, the fish are worse in NL :0)
