AK push
Forgot to record the hand # because I got up and threw something after being in this tournament for 3 hours and getting knocked out on this hand.
Blinds 300-600, UTG and UTG+1 limp both around 9000 in chips(players at the table had been limping all game with ridiculous hands). Seat 3 raises to the minimum 1200. Im in seat 4 with AK and 7200 in chips. There is already 3300 in the pot. I moved in. Agree? In case you're curious min raiser shows AA and takes it down. I think he played it very poorly. 2nd Question: I find myself getting on in these tournaments a little bit off the bubble with anywhere between 8-15 BBs left in my stack and im doubling up just to stay ahead of the blinds. I know I should be pushing earlier in coinflip situations, but really how often do good players do this? Any advice on midtourney play would be appreciated. I think a play like the one I wrote about above is exactly the sort of play that needs to be made to win tournaments. |
