Was I set up?
I just got busted in a no limit game live, but was I set up by a mechanic? This is a very usual game I play in but we doubled the buy in tonight. Everyone is pretty much a LAG but I swear to god I got mechaniced so I'm just looking for some feedback.
Hero is first with KK Hero raises, Villian Calls Flop K 8 8 Villian bets, Hero calls Turn 4 River 7 Villian Bets, Hero goes all in Villian calls VIllan wins with 88 ( four of a kind) Afterwards I dunno it felt like a train wreck, do these hands come up often or do I just get the ass end of these things a lot? What puzzles me is the dealer flipped up my first card so I got the burn, which was the second K, I would have had KJd, but instead got dealt KK. The hand just seemed too set up, because WHO THE HELL FLOPS 4 of a kind? I'm just looking for comments please don't flame me too bad. |

You won't find anyone on this forum who's ever seen it happen, and collectively we've played millions of hands. You were definitely cheated, go and demand your money back. |

Re: Was I set up?
Without any additional information you are were in all likelihood not set up. These things happen, although rarely. I've flopped quads a few times in the past couple thousand hands. To be against a flopped fullhouse though in those situations is more rare, but completely within the realm of possibility. You'd really need some evidence before instigating anything.

I flopped four of a kind twice tonight online (first: 88 Flop 88x second QA Flop QQQ) got paid off both times. It could be a set-up but if you've played in this game before and all factors are equal except stakes, its much more likely that it's just how the cards fell. |

Re: Was I set up?
The odds of flopping quads with a pocket pair are about 1-400.
In other words every 400 times you get dealt a pocket pair you can expect to flop quads once (statistically speaking). By no means a miracle. Do you know the guy who was dealing? Being a mechanic isn't easy, it's not something you can jsut do once for the heck of it. It's a "skill" you have to develop to not be obvious. |

Re: Was I set up?
I've flopped quads 4 or 5 times this week and I haven't played much. Not that rare. That doesn't mean you weren't cheated. noone here can tell you either way though.
If you have a bad feeling about the game or certain players, don't play it. Simple as that. |
