Which is a better micro limit hand QJo or J10o?
They are both group 5 hands and I think QJo is ranked 1 position higher than J10o, but I am becoming convinced that J10o is the better hand in the loose $0:50 $1:00 games.
I guess the small sample police will be after me for this post as I only have around 10,000 hands on Poker Tracker, but my stats for these 2 hands could not be more different. QJ is my biggest losing hand, whilst J10o is surprisingly my 7th best hand. The comparitive stats are as follows: Hand......Win%......$won......BB/hand......VP$IP QJo.......22.78......(33.26).....(0.42)........65. 82% J10o......15.89.......56.5........0.53.........42. 06% These stats are really interesting. QJo wins a decent % of hands, but more than any other hand it seems to either win small or lose big. J10o on the other hand does not win many pots, but when it does win, usually with the nut straight it wins big. I guess one of the reasons for my poor QJo stats is that I am playing it way too much. After reviewing my stats I have decided to cut down my VP$IP on this hand to less than 50%. I am interested in finding out what stats other players with larger databases have on these 2 hands. Do others find J10o to be much better than QJo? |

I can't imagine any offsuit hands being worse than a hand it dominates.

QJo is better. you need way more hands to conclude anything about specific holdings.
for example, QTo is performing better than my QJo at 1/2. |

QJ is better. Do you have some logical argument to back up your claim since, as you pointed out, your sample size is small? I can't think of any reason J10 would be better.

Re: Which is a better micro limit hand QJo or J10o?
Well it seems unaminous QJo is better and I just have a strange sample. I thought J10o might be better because it is more likely to make a straight.
I just ran a check on the Poker Room EV statistics. QJo in any position at the $1-$2 table has a positive EV of 0.3BB whilst J10o has a negative EV of 0.3BB. I guess I should have checked this out before making the post. Just curious though, is there anyone else out there who is doing much better on J10o than QJo? |

per hand average. KQo should make more total than KQs since you get it more often.

Re: Which is a better micro limit hand QJo or J10o?
Both hands are over-rated, I rarely play either.
JTo is better in multiway pots because of its straight potential. QJo is better shorthanded preferably for stealing. Its less likely you will be dominated by a hand like AQ AJ KQ etc. |
