Default Problem with Opera browser

I have recently switched from Firefox to Opera, but I am having one problem. Opera is unable to navigate my e-mail client. My e-mail is a typical .edu e-mail client -- here is a picture

Anyways, when I click on buttons such as "Inbox," "Check Mail," etc. nothing happens. Is there some setting I need to change in the Opera browser to make it work?

Thanks

Most likely culprits are that these buttons are using Javascript that it does not like, or opening a popup window, or both.

I believe Opera tells you if it is stopping something from working. Do you get any such messages?

Here is a better description of what happens:

When I log in, at first everything is fine. But after I read one e-mail message and go back to my inbox, I cannot open any other messages. I click another message, the hourglass pops up for a second, but nothing happens. I am not getting any messages about blocking pop-ups. However, I am able to switch between inbox, sent folder, trash, etc.

Thanks
