Default TP/WK out of the blinds

3/6 or 4/8 live versus the usual suspects

Hero has K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB.

4 limps to him and he sees the flop.

Flop 5 players (5sb)

K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Does Hero ALWAYS bet this out of the BB? Or does he wait to see what the other players do?

I like to vary my play here. When the pot is smaller (<4BB), I will bet right out. However, when it starts getting to be larger (>4BB), I like a check out of the BB planning to raise if a bet comes from late position driving out players in between and call if the bet comes from earlier position with the intentions of bet/folding the turn if a non-scary card hits the board.

However, I don't feel completely comfortable in these situations either.

I agree with the variations on pot size in this situation. Typically, I'll lead out here, or c/r if I can expect a late position bet. If it gets checked around on the flop, I'll bet any turn. If I check and there's a bet and a call, I'm done; on a dry flop like this, there's too much a chance that another K is out.

This isn't always the best option; it depends on the players in the hand. If there's an aggressive player 3rd to act who bets with A-high and is raised by the last guy who is isolating the LAG with 88, you're going to fold the winner.

On the other hand if you can expect just a late bet and that's it, a checkraise is great to clear out the field.

I just bet. You are going to get called by A-x, QTs, 55, and any other random trash.
