Default Weak draw on the flow, big pot...

6/12 game, kill pot - so we're playing 12/24 this hand.
Hero is the killer and on the button, posting a kill blind.

EMP (pretty solid, somewhat overaggressive post-flop) open raises, Hijack coldcalls, SB (somewhat loose, somewhat passive) calls, BB calls, Hero looks at 86o and calls.
(Anyone a read is not provided for is pretty much a typical player at this level, which is to say that they're only slightly more aggressive than a live 3/6 player.)

5 to the flop for 10SB.
Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB bets, EMP calls, Hijack calls, Hero...

What's the appropriate turn action, why, and how close is it?

The appropriate flop action is to fold, making for no turn action. I don't think it's all that close.

You have a gutshot to the bottom end of a straight that ends in broadway, which alone is a pretty sure recipe for disaster when you're talking about a 5-handed pot. One of your outs could be dirty with two diamonds flopping. Even if you catch your perfect 7, it's entirely possible that you're up against a flopped K high straight, or that someone could redraw on you with an 8, J, Q, or diamond on the river (to say nothing of a possible FH).

The Good: You're geting 13:1 or even better and I'm sure theres a mountain of chips in the middle if you're using 2 dollar chips.

The Bad: Your gutshot outs are durrrrtay. Sucks to make your hand and lose to a better one. Sucks even more when you make your straight, but theres 3 diamonds on board, and the action goes bet, Hero raises, 3-bet, 4-bet, Hero...

So fold. Even with the assload of sexy chips in the middle of the table.

The fact that when you hit this you are probably still dodging a ton of cards makes this a pretty clear fold in my opinion.
