So this weeks champ = Blindcurve and $170 is on the way.

On a side note: Me (Exitonly4) and AA88Qs had a side bet of $50, and when he was all done playing he had 1075, and i needed to get the FT bonus points to beat him.. and needless to say i scraped out that 9th place. Count it. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Alright next week (or sunday if theres enough interest... infact respond in this post if you would be interested on sunday aswell) there will be a new and improved scoring system, because well.. this one sucks and i'm sorry we had to use it for two weeks.

Why not use total $ won? It's easy to calculate, and it aligns almost perfectly with the goal of maximizing ROI.

a 90 poit finish was in the 2000 is better than gettnig FT at most.

In the new point system I think there should be some sort of points or bonus for making the money. Right now bubbling out and making no money is worth only one point less than makeing the money.
That seems to reward survival rather than trying to play for the profit.

yea i had an error in two cells of the omaha tournament, Fnurt's total is actually 1450, and Gobbo's is 860.

Doesn't change the results thankfully, but Fnurt was a lot closer...

Cant you just divide by the buy-in? I like the idea of basing it off the payout, but I also liked getting credit for outlasting 70% of the feilds while 6-8tabling on one monitor [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

How about giving points based on percentile finish? That way field size is eliminated as a factor. You'll get 5 points for each percentile starting with the 30th? Here's an example chart to make it easy:

1st % - 150 pts
2nd % - 145 pts
3rd % - 140 pts
...
29th % - 10 pts
30th % - 5 pts

e.g. I finish 3rd out of 1100, 250th out of 2200, and 35th out of 120.

Old system: 327+50 + 410 + 1 = 788 points

New system: 1st percentile = 150 pts + 12th percentile = 95 pts + 30th percentile = 5 pts. Total is 250 pts. Notice that the 250th place finish is now rewarded less than the final table finish.

We could optionally have a 5 pt bonus for each place you move up the final table. i.e. 10 pt bonus for 9th up to 50 pt bonus for 1st.

What do you think? The math is fairly easy and it seems reasonable at first glance.
