Default $55: Extracting set value, first hand

Can I make any kind of raise here that's not a push? I think want to make flush draws pay a little more. Ideas?

I think you should push because it makes you look weaker than any other raise and you have to raise.

I would raise to 400 to give the players left to act a chance to call or come over the top with AK/AQ/AJ. Raising to 400 would make it wrong for the remaining players or SB to call with a flush draw. BB very likely has Ace with strong kicker. I think it will be hard for BB to get out of the hand if it gets heads up. I think going all-in right now might force out a 2nd ace that you want to keep in. Pushing might also force out the BB.

I make it 600, but that certainly isn't that much better than pushing. But you have to raise this for sure, and minraising is usually balls.

I tend to agree with this. Push and watch Ax come along for the ride.

I kind of like this line, I think a call or a push works. Push if you think your opponent is going to smell weakness, call if you think your opponent is willing to lay down a big Ace.

Heh, um how about no.

How could you guys say pushing is the best play...I honestly dont even believe it.

It is level 1 for goodness sake people! You can get plenty of chips with little risk, and this is the perfect place to do it.

Pushing the flop does nothing...you win 200 chips which puts you at 1200, enough to last the blinds for the next 4 rounds, woop-de-frickin-do.

I honestly think that 200 is the perfect bet here. You most likely will get 1 or 2 callers here which will put the pot at 650-850. Betting 200 gives a strong ace the chance to catch his kicker...and the flush draw his 9 outs with NO RISK TO YOU WHAT SO EVER, You could force fold the turn if a heart hits and you would be in fine shape with 750 chips(dont do that).

I am sorry but I am extremely bad at math...

There are basically 9 cards in the whole deck so 20%(or whatever) of the time a heart comes on the turn for the flush draw player.
Lets also say that the Ax player(however high the "x" maybe) has basically no chance of winning this pot(very small).

So you are up against a player that has 9 outs and someone drawing dead.

20% of the time you lose on the turn(
80% of the time you keep building the pot up(Ax calls turn bet) or win it

No heart on turn...

Push the river

You may or may not get the Ax to call, but the flush draw is out of there.

Whatever..i am tired. I am going to go confuse someone else for a while...sorry if this makes no sense or is totally wrong.

EDIT....AWE [censored]...I THOUGHT HE BET THE 200...sorry

Okay..this is what i really think.

Pushing is your only option. And if you disagree you are wrong.
