hand 1: push. you iso the shortstack pusher and get dead money from cameron

hand 2: tough and close. i lean towards folding and hoping you find a ragged ace or something good in the next 4 hands

push hand 1...are you in the blind in hand 2? I'd probably consider folding because you would still be able to double up and have 900 if you catch a good hand in the next few...j 8 is basically a random hand..I would expect to be behind a lot of the time with it.

I would fold in hand 1. The power of the middle pairs is their fold equity, but you don't have a lot here. With as loose as the limper is, he may call, and the original raiser will certainly call. You described him as pretty tight, so he probably has either a coinflip or a bigger pair. I would rather move all in with a much lesser hand in a pot where no one has shown any interest.

In hand2, you must call. Even against a tighter opponent, I would call, but against a loosy its a no-brainer. You're getting pretty low, and if you fold this, doubling up later won't help you as much. If you know you need to double up to win, then you need to think of each lost chip as double what it really is, because of it's double-up potential. Calling with j8 might not be a great play, but it's better to take a bad bet now then a worse bet later, which is what you'll have if you fold this.

I'm assuming hero is the blind hand2, otherwise it's a clear fold.

Hand 1: I push this. Calling is okay I guess, but folding sucks imo.

Hand 2: YOu can't call here.
The other shorty is in the BB next, and I'd rather have camden put him to a decision there. Also, J8 just doesn't have enough showdown value to call an all in here imo, even if he's pushing any 2.

Calling against a tight opponent here is atrocious. Calling if he's pushing any 2 still sucks imo.

j8 is very close to being in the middle range of hands, power-wise, i would put it at like 45% from just a guess.

you definitely, definitely are -CEV on this play, it's just a matter of are you willing to go down to at or less than 300 chips on your next orbit and dealing with that.

Do you like pushing here with the raiser leaving himself with 95 after the raise? When he did that I put him on a big pair, what else could you put him on here?

What are you hoping happens if you fold? You're certainly going to have to show the best hand to win this hand, or the one you end up pushing. You may or may not get a hand better than j8, and you may or may not get heads up with it. I'd rather take my j8 heads up with a chance at 1000 in chips, rather than some random hand with a chance at only 700 or so.

It may be -CEV, and I admitted as much, but Sklansky makes a very true statement in TPFAP, when he talks about taking a bad bet now rather than a worse bet later. Calling and winning this makes you a force again in the tourney.
