Default on the same subject ; tipping - a rebate for employers?

I'm probably gonna get flamed but my opinion is that you should only tip when you are very satisfied with a service given to you (dealer, restaurant, taxi or whatever).

And the argument that many people (minimum wage jobs and similar) live on tipping is only valid beacuse you (ie most people) help the employer to keep the wages that low with their tipping.

IMO the employer should pay decent wages and tipping should never be "mandatory".

I know that this is a cultural thing in some countries (USA) but i´m still interested others take on this subject unless you intend to add such insights as "Your a cheap bastard" replys.

Regards
Snow

Default Re: a thought on tipping dealers

Many dealers just don't get this, or they wouldn't fart around when in the box.
No farting around. Rule #1. Farting around = <$

Many say they are efficient, but are full of it.
Yeah, I have found that many dealers think they are the shiznit, when in fact they are not.

...but there is always room for improvement.
Being a newer dealer, I'm always striving for excellence. I figure if you're there, why not try to kick serious asss. The more asss you kick, the more $$ you make...this is the way it should be, after all.

I also think that pooling tips hurts this efficiency.
Pooling is evil IMHO.

As for the dealers you work with (probably in Colorado by your elevation location), I did experience good dealers up there, and they seem to get tipped very well. This was five years ago up in Blackhawk.
Yep - up at the Gilpin Poker Room in Black Hawk. Did you live here at one time? I saw your reply to Clarmeister in B&M...

The toke rate in Black Hawk is above $20 and close to $25/hr give or take depending on the dealer and casino. They might be the best paid dealers on average in the country in spite of the fact that the super loose games cut down drastically on hands/hr.
