[ QUOTE ]
This is a rough list of some players who I think/know are gonna be available middish-late (please don't debate this, there are some noobs I play with). I have had trouble here in the past and want to shore some things up

Assuming I have 2 rbs (Edge/ D.Davis)and 2 wrs (C.Johnson/ R.Wayne) and am looking at a flex and backups, this is how I roughly see these 2ish players.

QUESTION: Am I really off in any spots or is there anybody here to avoid.

1 jerry porter
2 larry johnson
3 chris chambers
4 l. fitzgerald
5 justin macereins
6 ronnie brown
7 jj arrington
8 cedric benson
9 derek mason
10 anquain boldin
11 muhsin muhhamed

12 lee evans
13 plaxico burress
14 ashley lelie
15 eddie kennison
16 tatum bell
17 I bruce
18 rod smith
19 roy williams
20 steve smith
21 jimmy smith

22 tj hush
23 deshaun foster
24 m. moore
25 tj. duckett
26 mike anderson
27 j. bettis

thanks

If you're shopping for a flex spot, you want a starter and a regular producer. Therefore, you probably want to nail down a running back, if possible. I would avoid the following:
L. Johnson (unless you have Priest), Chambers(bad offense), McCariens(2nd or 3rd opt), Mason(Boller), Evans(Losman), Burress(injured Manning), Lelie(underperformer), Kennison (bad attitude/underperformer), Bruce (too many weapons), Houshmandzadeh (falling out of favor), Moore(platoon), Duckett(platoon), and Bettis(old/platoon).

Of the remaining options, I would probably favor the young RB's -- R. Brown, Arringotn, Benson, Bell, Foster, etc.

IMO, yes. Brown is the starter, and everything indicates JJ is as well. Benson currently is not the starter, but common knowledge is that he will be, sooner than later. Bell give the same indication, but I don't think Shanny is as motivated to make the change as the Bears would be, since Benson is a very high draft choice whom they had trouble signing. And Foster appears to have settled into another messy platoon.

MY team:
QB J. Delhomme
WR J. Walker
WR A. Johnson
WR D. Mason
RB P. Holmes
RB R. Johnson
TE J. Wiggins
W/R K. Jones
BN J. Porter
BN C. Williams
BN A. Brooks
BN B. Jacobs
BN P. Burress
BN T. Henry

K None (but I'm not sweating it)

D R. Lewis
D B. Urlacher
DB E. Reed
DB T. Polamalu
DL J. Peterson
DL D. Morgan
BN M. Peterson

Rate my team please ... I feel I did pretty bad for a 8 team league but R. Johnson was the best back when I was picking... (Well if you think J. Jones is better then he was avilable too)
K. Warner is available, I'm thinking bout picking him up for A. Brooks. Also I need to drop someone for a kicker... who whould I drop

Also, if you're not familiar with defensive players, I'd say that if a team scores 100 pts in a week (a rather avg week), offensive will put in about 65 pts (with 8 players) and defensive would score about 35 pts (with 6 players).

Alright, here's one for you. I have been offered Priest Holmes and Jake Plummer for Kerry Collins and Edgerrin James. On value I think this is a slight edge to me. The mitigating factors: I have Larry Johnson, he has been desperately trying to trade for LJ since leaving him to long in the draft. He has a very good team, certainly a playoff contender, with his major achilles being that Priest is a risk to miss playoff time. I also should be a definite playof contender, and this team is one that I am very worried about. I feel like even if this trade is marginally good for me, it lets him off the hook too much. What extra consideration do you give to the quality of the team you're trading to, and do you make the deal? Rosters follow:

Me:
Tom Brady, Kerry Collins, Byron Leftwich (2QB league, 6pt TD)
Edge, Deuce, Westbrook, Mike Anderson, LJ (I like my RB's))
Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Jimmy Smith, Charles Rogers
Dallas Clark, CHI Def, Longwell

Him:

Bulger, Plummer, Warner
Priest, Rudi, JJ Arrington, Barlow
Holt, Wayne, Branch, Santana Moss
Witten, PHI Def, some kicker

Let him linger. The asking price for LJ will go up as he gets more and more carries (or if Holmes breaks down).

2RB/2WR/FLEX format. Had to take each position. I don't feel so great about ronnie brown and bettis, so I think I need a better 3rd running back.

X DF Washington WAS
X KI M.Stover BAL
X QB J.Plummer DEN
RB J.Bettis PIT
RB R.Brown MIA
X RB D.Davis HOU
X RB E.James IND
X TE J.Wiggins MIN
WR C.Chambers MIA
WR L.Evans BUF
X WR C.Johnson CIN
WR J.Porter OAK
X WR R.Wayne IND

Who's my trade bait?
Do I consider starting a WR at Flex?

your trade bait is:

Ronnie Brown
Chris Chambers
Lee Evans
Joey Porter
Jerome Bettis
Washington
Jermaine Wiggins
Matt Stover

I think u want a 3rd running back and would like to keep brown and one of your 3 wide recivers. However, you should obviously be willing to trade brown and any 2 of the wide recivers for a conceivably "tradeable" stud (joneses, rudi, deuce, jamal, dillon, c-mart, tiki, westbrook, portis, ahman) and another wr, including c.johnson or wayne for the first few on that list. If somebody wants the K/D/TE dump it obviously.

I don't think there is value regarding brown for foster, bennet, or benson. Not sure on fred taylor, j.arrington, caddy, jordan, l.johnson or s.jackson. I would prefer to keep brown if u can, especially if its a dynasty league.

Do you think u could move bettis and a wideout for jj/jordan/caddy/westbrook/c-mart/tiki/dillon? I think I'd like that.

How much value bettis has with his injury and duce's stauts I dunno. I don't think parker a real threat to take over, so does the bus have a role if duce comes back? Methinks Bettis has value in light of no plaxico for Ben, but splitting time with duce.

I think I value your wrs porter/chambers/evans, but I think the first 2 are close. An aging moulds and evans means evans has more upside than either. But I'd dump whomever for a decent rb along with bettis/brown, these wrs are interchangeable backups.

I've been offered cadillac and mike williams for chad johnson and bettis. I think I'd cionsider it for wayne (of giev him CJ + brown for KJ and whomever), but not sure about chad johnson/cadillac.

He has:
RB S.Alexander SEA 0
RB K.Jones DET 0
RB C.Williams TB 0
RB R.Williams MIA 0

TE R.McMichael MIA 0
WR D.Branch NE 0
WR T.Owens PHI 0
WR S.Smith CAR 0
WR M.Williams DET 0
