The worst trait a poker player can have.
I'm curious what everyone here thinks is the worst trait that a poker player can have. I have an opinion, but I'd like to get some discussion going first.

Re: The worst trait a poker player can have.
I would say lack of discipline. If you can't play disciplined, I can't see how one can win.

Re: The worst trait a poker player can have.
I'd have to go with stupidity, followed closely by lack of emotional control. Pretty much a toss-up.

Re: The worst trait a poker player can have.
All good answers so far, but the more and more I play the more I am starting to see that having a closed mind is by far the worst possible trait someone can have. When someone is close-minded they will never be able to realize that they have all of these other traits, and as a result, will never be able to work on getting rid of them. Furthermore, closeminded people can never get inside of another players head. They will see someone make a play and never realize why they made it.

Inflexibility? An inability or unwillingness to adapt situationally.

[/ QUOTE ] this is a much better way of putting what I was trying to say when I said "ego", and I agree with you completely. |

Re: The worst trait a poker player can have.
That is an excellent point. A close-minded, stubborn individual would have a difficult if not impossible time improving their game. Being able to learn from one's mistakes does require your mind to be open to other possibilities.
Let's hope I can be a disciplined, open-minded player so I can improve |
