Lead the flop for the pot. Bet 2/3'rd pot on the turn, hope he puts in a raise somewhere. He's not folding AA-QQ on the flop nor turn just because you're leading into him - hopefuly he'll put you on a 99-JJ/steal.

EDIT: as you played it, I'd call his min-raise and lead any river for 2/3 pot. I think that's the best line to extract from him. Maybe min-raising him back and the betting the river is also a possibilty.

well it depends on if he's weak/tight but can't fold AA...I take notes on guys that can't fold AA or KK no matter how obvious it is that they are beat. If he's in this group, I like the push because he's calling.

If he's true weak/tight your bet is horrible because he's folding.

The one thing you have going for you is that villain probably thinks that this is the last way someone would play an 8.

If he's really weak/tight, how can he call this push? I agree you should have led the flop. That way even if he just calls down pot size bets you can most/all of his stack in.

Did you actually get paid off here? In my experience, most people who are that rockish are also fairly cautious postflop and don't go broke with overpairs (which makes it real easy to steal pots from them even when you don't make a big luckbox suckout on the flop).

Lost my temper to a minraise the other day, too, and it cost me some coin. Blind v. Blind, I'm in the small with 86, called the bb who checked. Flop came 884. Bet 1, minraised to 3 by BB; I reraised to $30, and chat-boxed--"now fold, fish." He did, and I kicked myself for the next 20 minutes.

Anyway, I think the "weak" part of "weak-tight" means this guy can, more often than not, fold his overpair, especially to a board like this with an obvious set potential showing.
