POKERSPOT-My Final Word
I encouraged the then existing players who had monies at Pokerspot to keep playing because keeping the site open was the only chance to get paid. My encouragement kept several games a day going and we all received a partial payment, 5k to Sunshine 2200 to myself in April 2001. There was no argument from anyone that the 'spot had the superior software to ANY other site and even now the 'spot software is better than Party Poker. Anyway, I am not delusional and many out there who read these postings know me personally. I was a regular live player on the East Coast from 92-2000 playing more hours live than anyone at the Taj and Foxwoods before. I believe I played more hands of live holdem in the 90's than anyone. My posts about Paradise were laced with a little humour now and then to get the message home. It seems at least to me that they did do some good as Paradise is now in a declining state and should vanish within the next couple of years. One last bit of info there are outstanding warrants here in Florida for the principals of Netpro for grand larceny. Russ Boyd was telling the truth that they stole the player's money. Russ Boyd was not a nice person., he persistently lied about the status of player's money and he did turn down a deal that would have resulted in evryone getting paid but he did not steal our money, he is guilty of mismanagement and poor judgment, given his tender age at the time, it is understandable.

Re: POKERSPOT-My Final Word
I was not around at the time all this happened. However, I can say the the single biggest fear ANY online gambler has, is NOT GETTING PAID.
This will never go away for Dutch Boyd as long as these people remain unpaid. He will never be successful in any future business venture because this story will always re-surface. We all know he still plays in these tournaments and still makes money occasionally. He needs to suck it up and pay these people the money they deserve. Even then, this probably will never go away but it would be a start in the right direction to regain trust. If he were to start a new site, I can't see how anyone in the world would join with this hanging over his head. |

Re: POKERSPOT-My Final Word
Supposively he is a genius...but can't figure this element of sound business practice out.
Pretty ironic eh? |

As I said, I would never join with this hanging over his head. If others want to be stupid with their money, then that is their choice.

Re: POKERSPOT-My Final Word
He would never name it due to the barrage of "AVOID AT ALL COSTS" posts it would garner.
