in your opinion.....is buying an irregular 2001FP worth it?

i searched but didnt find any other threads on this issue -

everyone posts about buying their 2001fp from ebay, but from what i can see there are a fair amount of "factory second" ones available for cheaper described as -

seeing as how i am currently using a flat panel display that was given to me for free because of a deep 1.5 inch scratch in the screen, this wouldnt seem to be a problem for me...what do you think?

I purchased a 2001FP with very very minor pressure points..completely invisible unless you focus on then. Anyways that specific monitor looks worse, but if you can live with it..its worth it. It's a matter of how much your willing to tolerate

well the same person actually has like 7 diffrent ones for sale each with varying degrees of pressure points (and a unique picture for each), i was just giving this as an example.

If they're varying prices, depending on the damage buy the nicest one. I did, and am very happy with the purchase ($350 after shipping, 2 very small spots)

you ask if it's worth it but you dont include how much you'd have to pay for it. kinda important piece of the question. you can get a new one for around $480 w/ taxes and free shipping.

if you'd probably have to pay $400 w/ shipping then i dont think it's worth it because you have an inferior screen, no warranty and run the risk associated w/ dealing w/ a seller on ebay. if you could get it for say $300 then i say buy it.

so yeah it's worth it. the questsion is "how much?"

$205-235 shipped seemed to be the norm they sold for (a few with more spots didnt hit the reserve price so will probably be relisted)

if the seller's reputation isnt a question id buy for that price. absolutely worth it to me.

I have one with a lighter but slightly larger pressure point than any of those in your picture. I don't notice unless I'm looking for it now...you get used to it very quickly.
