ultimate bad beat story
Here's a funny story I tell everybody when talking about poker. I'm sure the other guy tells everybody twice as much as I do. Fourth or fifth hand of a $115 B&M NLHE tournament. I've got 66 small blind. Cool, as long as its unraised, I'll see the flop, and hopefully catch something nice. Everybody folds. The button tries to bet but messes up (doesn't do it according to the rules) and ends up simply calling. I should have paid attention to that.) I call.
Flop is AK6. Beautiful. I bet, he raises, I reraise, he reraises. (it's heads up by the this point.) Now, I'm trying to put him on some cards. I don't think he would bet like that with top pair, but he might have AK and flopped two-pair. I think I realized he could have AA or KK but didn't give it too much thought. We continue reraising until we're both all-in. Open cards, he shows AA. Damn, I'm beat by a longshot. Well, the turn comes and it's a 6. Got my one out to catch 4 sixes. If only I had known how to play well at the time, I could have sat with a huge chiplead and done well. Anyways, that's my bad beat story, or moreso, for me (the poker gods loved me that moment) |
