talking about hands during play: allowed? karma got him anyway

On paradise two players were talking trash, one on the other's play, and during a hand in which i was BB, my J6o flopped 2 pair, and the one trash talking told the other player "that's 2 pair" - the guy then folded, he was calling the rest of the time, not to mention he was a calling station. The guy proceeded to do say similar things about other players hands for the next few minutes, he says it was allowed because he is not in on the hand. anyone know the exact rules?

luckily, 5 minutes later, he gave me back more than he cost me!

Rules are that no one can talk about a live hand. At least the ahole paid you off.
