Why did you choose your Nick Name?

Just a thought I had while playing last nights game. How it came about was T Perkie said something along the lines of, lets hope Kincaid doesn't win again, which is cool cos he says the same thing every week [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] and anyway I know that he's at least half joking. But what annoyed me for about a second before I realised how stupid I was being was that he called me Kincaid not Byron. Until I thought wow what a twat he is calling you by a nick name that you thought up and there is no way he could call you by your real name cos there's no way he could possibly know what it is.

And then Aleo came on the chat box and everyone was calling him by different names, Brad, Shub or Aleo. How confusing is that? Well not very but you know what I mean.

So I started thinking about why we've called ourselves our names. We could choose almost any thing yet some people on the poker sites call themselves things like TYL739. Why?

Why did I choose BK. Well the second book on gambling that I read was Burning the Tables in Las Vegas by Ian Andersen. If I hadn't read that then I probably wouldn't ever have started playing poker. Ian Andersen also wrote a novel about a group of advantage players winning a million in one night at a casino. The leader of the group was called Byron Kincaid. When I had to choose a Stars name I had to think for ages before I came up with a name that I was happy with, but I am still happy with it and I call myself the same thing on any website that I go on.

Just interested in the stories behind your names.

Ok, Since you asked.

I wanted a name that was in general descriptive of me, and yet had some humor attached in one manner or other. You will note that there is no s on the end. On some sites (not necessarily poker or mine) the same name is used with the s. I chose to leave it off and let them wonder if I am:
a physicist,
a proctologist, or
just a professional a**hole.

If you don't get it, look up the word physic (without the s on the end). A medicinal treatment, generally a laxative, generally administered by shoving it up...)

There is a second pun or inside joke that only someone who knows me in real life will probably ever get. We'll leave that for another time.

I chose mine because I have a silly sense of humor, and really enjoyed the cartoon "Count Duckula". The concept of a "vicious vampire duck" -- and a vegetarian one, at that! -- left me helpless with laughter when I first heard of it. It's been a nice little icebreaker at the tables; I often get comments on it. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

mine is ThaSaltCracka simply because I think its funny that some people call white people crackas. I am white so I thought why not spin it a little and make it more ridiculous, thus the SaltCracka was born. Some other possible ideas were AnimalCracka, RitzCracka, Chicken-n-BisketCracka, etc....
as for my Stars name which I had to change because ThaSaltCracka was deemed to be potentially offensive [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img], I had to settle with DaEvictor. I work in an evictions department so I thought it would be funny, as well as being somewhat ironic for tournament play [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img].

I imagine some people hate my name, but as soon as they see my pic, the start to laugh. I have a picture from the show The Family Guy, in which the dad Peter looks like a fat version of the incredible hulk.

Mine was actually given to me by an online acquaintance who said that my screen name should be Stagemusic. In my past I have done a bit of Broadway and even a couple of films so she gave me the name. Kinda strange but it works.
