Let's have no more talk about cork/paper coil, electronic scoring or frickin' plastic-tipped darts. Proper dartboards are made from pressure-bound bristles. This is a game where the best equipment in the world, as used in the world championships, is not expensive. You need the Winmau Blade II Dartboard.

Accept no substitute.

Was about to post this, its the board ro have and its not even close.

Is that the one with the really thin wires? It doesn't look like it, and I've enjoyed that board much more than its thick wired versions. If Winmau makes a thin wired board, I'd go for that.

Yup, the wires are rhombus cross-section, even a direct hit on them will usually slide in. They don't look especially thin from the front, but the shape virtually eliminates bounce-out.

I looked it up on Amazon and found it for $80. Is it really worth the extra $50? I'll probably get it if others can confirm. Are any metal type darts ok with it also?

When was the last time you went to an irish/english pub and saw an electronic dartboard?

You must get the one others have mentioned with steel tipped darts. Also buy a chalk board to keep score. The math for any of the dart games is not too hard.
