Pick a digicam for me

Firstly, i know nearly nothing about photography. I enjoy taking pictures when travelling and probably will take more of an interest in photography soon.

I currently have this, it's ok but a lot of pictures come out way worse than expected, esp. with when using the flash since the focus and contrast seems awful but it's probably just my amateur ways. Anyhow I'm thinking of getting this this. Good idea? Worth it? Any better suggestions?
