Monster, use stop and go?
This situation will come up seldom, but I was curious as to how the more experienced viewed my turn choice.
Only been at table 5 min, no read on villain. 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) Preflop: Hero is BB with 8c, 5s 2 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero checks. Flop: (3 SB) 7h, 5d, 5c (3 players) Hero checks, CO bets, SB folds, Hero calls. Turn: (2.50 BB) 5h, (2 players) Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises, CO 3-bets, Hero calls. River: (8.50 BB) 2s (2 players) Hero bets, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO caps, Hero calls. Final Pot: 16.50 BB Is this a proper use of the stop ’n go? I feared if I capped the turn, villain might be reluctant to raise the river if he held something like 3,3 or 4,4. OTOH, it may have gone 4 bets on both the turn and river. Comments? |

Re: Monster, use stop and go?
you probably got the most value you could have...a cap would have gotten you a check call on the river.
