Actually the arbitration hearing was allegedly going extremely well for him and he very likely would have been declared a free agent. That's what I don't like about his whole argument. Baltimore realized there was a very good chance of the deal being voided, so they were suddenly willing to salvage anything out of it. TO opted to comply. So his claims of having no leverage and being forced into a bad situation are pretty much garbage. He opted for the risk averse path, it wasn't thrust upon him.

There are pluses and minuses for every collective bargaining agreement. In the NFL it's mostly pluses for the owners and minuses for the players. It will be interesting to see what happens when its time to negotiate a new CBA in the NFL. Anyways back to TO, he is the only player on the Eagles team that has guts, topnotch football skills and the ability to deliver when it matters. They should pay him, even if he does have a big mouth.

I would be very surprised if the Eagles gave him a new contract. They don't budge on contract negotiations for any player b/c they manage the cap so well. Joe Baner has been best in the league at this for awhile now. Plus if they cut TO after this season they will take almost no cap hit which is probably what they had in mind from the beginning.

I have no simpathy for TO though because he brought all of this on himself . He was a free agent last season but his retarded agent forgot to file the papers in time. So he could have gotten the contract he wanted if he followed the free agent procedure like everyone else does.
