Having less then 10BB = Fish?
I play mainly play 3-6 six handed. When I'm looking for tables, I allways sit down at tables where there are at least two players with less then, or circa, 10BB. I find that most of the time theese players are less skilled, they are either scared or to aggressive, and they are easy to read. Do you think my "read" i accurate?

Re: Having less then 10BB = Fish?
while i'm multi-tabling i lose down to 10bb's sometimes. If you joined my table just because of my roll... that doesnt make me a worse or better player does it?
maybe i misread your question =) |

Re: Having less then 10BB = Fish?
If you don't have much of a PT database built up, stack sizes can be a quick way of getting a preliminary read on a table. And yes, generally speaking the short-stacked player is the donkey at the table.
But you do have to be careful with this read & adjust on the fly as necessary. Especially on 6max, you'll often sit down at a table where the short stack is actually a good TAG, and the big stack is a donk who's been running ungodly hot during the session. Usually you can get a better idea of who the good player(s) and the atm(s) are over your first couple orbits. |
