seems like betting the river would be a good idea, are we afraid of villain starting with a diamond in the hole and hitting the river? the fact that you caught a 7 makes it less likely he hit higher two pair or trips

We're afraid of villain hitting lots of things. Hero's holding is pretty transparent, so he's unlikely to get a call--most likely villain will raise/fold, so you're probably risking two bets to win one.

5th:I don't trust him here.I believe he would check-raise with K's up & probably only check-call with only a pair of K's.
6th:I like this bet,too.My feeling is that you're ahead now,but he can easily draw out on you.
River:Check is right imo.Your hand is transparent(BTirish stole my word),& he could have the best hand now.
