Default How would you play this turn? 6max, 5/10

Villain is good and aggressive post flop. Only history between us was me calling his pf raise with 56 vs his 88, flop 345, I lead, he raises, I 3 bet to 200. I lead 300 on 345(4) turn he calls, check down river (Q).

why blow it? just installment plan.

a smaller bet allows him to draw dead, too, if thats what he has. [a draw]

That's how I felt about a push as well.

Villain must certainly think I have AT LEAST a big ace.

Looking at it from villains perspective, if villain puts me on an ace, then what case can you make for hero in betting the queen turn.

edit - I opted to check. Who hates this?

I do. You want to double through him here. You have like $1600 behind so I would bet about $600 - $750 and put the rest of it on the river. I doubt there's any way to double through on the river by checking the turn.

I agree, but I think hero's turn bet should price villain in to any draws he may have; if villain has 55, we're getting all the money in anyway, so I think we want to make a bet that lets him stick around w/ everything else.

Unless villain is good enough to see through this, I'd make a "weak" bet, say $400-$500, and then put the rest in on the river . . .

I agree 100% with both you and HoldemKillah.

I did raise to $475 on the flop, so I think 500 is about the min I could bet.

Anywhoo the river came K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], he checked again. What's your % pot bet? Looks like missed flush.

...or a chopped pot w/low aces? Or best yet...AK? If it's a missed flush, he's given up on the hand otherwise he would've led out with a river bluff. He's got something. It looks to me like AJ or A5 and possibly AK/A10. If he has nothing then you are winning nothing no matter what you bet so you might as well put something out there. I probably 2/3 pot it (or pot it depending on donkish the BB is) making it look like I'm trying to win the whole thing and cream myself if he pushes.

The other reason why you need to bet the turn here is because he may have nervous about 4-betting the flop and driving you out. You have to let him try to checkraise you again. Many opponents (including myself) shy away from 3 or 4 betting when OOP so they can c/r the turn and stack-commit their opponent. Let him do it next time.

It must've been A5 / Kx hearts. I bet 350 on river and he timed out.
