Something I have realized...forward from general
Sorry if you have already read this but I was told to post in psych as well...
I am a recent college graduate. I had a ton of fun in college. I loved hanging out, drinking, and having fun with my friends and roomates. During college I would play online poker, not an excessive amount, but enough. It was so much fun because I was making money and still hanging out with my friends and doing decent in school. After college I noticed something. My social life had been cut down quite a bit, and online poker, even as profitableas it may be, was no longer satisfying. Sitting in my room with no roomates staring at a screen just wasn't doing it. The money wasn't enough to motivate me to keep doing it. I came to the realization that I don't want to play online poker anymore because there are no social aspects to it. I have realized that I enjoy playing in a live setting whether it be casino or home game so much more. Playing live I feel that I can use both my poker and social skills much much more. I guess why I'm writing this is to ask if anyone else feels the same way? I know a lot of the people that play 8 tables and make a lot of money are going to say "no way its great", but I almost feel that it is time to move on and away from online poker. So does anyone else out there feel like this? |

Depends on your motivation. If your motivation is to make money, then it's crazy to not play online. If it's more of a social and recreational thing, then yeah live games might be more fun.
If making money is the goal, I think online beats out live play in just about every way possible. |

Take a break for a bit,
Getting used to the real world after college is a helluva an adjustment. Give it some time, play a few nights a week, go out with friends other nights. As with everything, balance is the key |

I'm planning a move for this very reason. I'd like to have the option to play a few days a week in good live games. I'm sure playing another 20 hours online after that will be much more interesting.
