Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?

This is why I hate top2. It's tough to lay down here. I was also wondering how my preflop play was from UTG+1. Should I be limping here? The table stats were: 17/5. I was 16/8 after ~50 hands. Thanks guys. |

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
First of all, leave the table. Second of all, don't limp with KTs at a 17/5 table.. everything that limps behind you probably has you dominated. Either raise it or fold. Once you see the flop, I don't hate the way you play it, really. It's really tough to put him on K2 or T2 here, so either he has a set or just a pair (generally). I like calling down because if you show too much agression only the sets are sticking around.

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
I have a hard time giving him the credit for the set here. It seems like most people aren't raising the sets until the turn. Unless you've got him marked as someone that fast plays sets, or is real tricky then I'd go forward assuming he might have a big King, or the unlikely raggedy two pair such as a K2 suited, or 10 2 suited.
Also, you gave us the table stats, but what were this guys stats...you can have a tight table and still have a guy at it that will limp any two suited. Personally, I would call the flop raise, and I would have raised him on the turn $20 more at least. If he didn't play back at me on the turn, I'd go ahead and get the rest of the money in on the river. |

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
The problem with raising the turn, is if he's going to limp with K2o from MP1 and raise my bet when he hits 2 pair, he's going to raise the turn if I fire a bet at him again. Then what???
I don't understand cold-calling his raise on the flop, and then raise his bet on the turn. This just gives him another chance to outdraw me. I didnt have any stats on him at the time, but now (80 hands later) he is 55%/0%/-53/80. So in the future I will probably play top2 against him like the best hand |

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
This is painfully weak. You need to reraise his shitty minraise on the flop. Get some money in there, you've got to be good most of the time.

it's a tight table, and generally for tight players loose tables are more lucrative

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
I didn't mean fire a bet, I meant checkraise his $20 bet to $40 or more. You want to get more money in the pot and possibly commit him. The donks at these levels massively overplay any two pair hands...they just don't understand that someone could have a set, or a higher two pair hand, which is what happened here. I will grant you that k2 is unlikely, but if it's soooooooooooted these hands like 10 2, and k 2 are more likely.

Re: Flopped top 2, did I play this too weak?
Raising would have been on my mind. The twenty dollar bet on the river tells me he doesn't have trips. I would bet more on the river with trips here. I would have raised the river for sure.
Also what do those stats mean...17/5??? 16/8??? |

These stats are the VP$IP% / PFR% from pokertracker.
www.pokertracker.com GET IT!!! VP$IP = voluntarily put money in the pot % PFR% = pre-flop raise % |
