QQ - horrible fold?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (8 handed) converter
UTG (t11484) UTG+1 (t6240) MP1 (t25518) Hero (t17848) CO (t5468) Button (t26859) SB (t2583) BB (t15370) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t1600, UTG+1 raises to t2400, MP1 folds, Hero folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls t800. at this point I was trying to survive. perhaps I should have still been trying to accumulate chips. 2 reasons for my fold. UTG+1 hadn't been very active. also I think at this point with a decent raising hand he should be going all-in. his min-raise set off alarm bells to me. i figured i was against JJ, KK, AA, or AK with more emphasis towards AA and KK. Is this a spot I have to go all-in? I just wasn't feeling it here. |

Re: QQ - horrible fold?
I dont think I would go all in, but I would have reaise 3BB to 2400. If he reaise that then you are down or coin flip(assuming he is that tight)

Re: QQ - horrible fold?
there was a reraise before him. If he re-reraises he is pot commited vs UTG+1.
I am torn between pushing and just calling this hand, but I think folding is really weak here. Chances are I would do both plays but I prolly prefer flat calling and dumping if UTG re-raises and UTG+1 calls all in. |

Re: QQ - horrible fold?
and if the flop comes with undercards i push? what if it comes Kxx or Axx?
edit: i guess i would be last to act so push if they check, and what if they raise/push? |

Re: QQ - horrible fold?
I call this as well and decide what to do afterwards on the flop (but if UTG pushes, I'm out).
By default, I'm betting rags if it's checked to me, check folding Axx and thinking about the bet size/call if there's action in front. edit: *Pushing* sucks. I'd bet around 3K if it's checked - that gets UTG out of the hand without aces and pot commits UTG+1 but if he has a bigger pair oh well. You'll still have 15 BB if you lose and I don't really see UTG+1 checking AA 3 way on any flop. |
