Requesting chip count

Is it just wsop, or just specific games/types/etc that you cannot force players to give you a chip count (or ask the dealer to do so) etc? I'm curious what the rules are in most places/games/etc regarding this.

You can't really force a player to give a chip count (not that I have ever witnessed) but if a count is requested, it is the dealers job to count them out.
