Re: Bush and the Levees
[ QUOTE ]
* A LEVEE BREACH OCCURRED ALONG THE INDUSTRIAL CANAL AT TENNESSE STREET. 3 TO 8 FEET OF WATER IS EXPECTED DUE TO THE BREACH. [/ QUOTE ] I've been doing some more digging. I remember this breach being reported on TV as the storm came ashore, and I'm pretty sure that this breach is not the one that flooded the 9th ward, this breach was on the downtown side of the canal and was not very serious. |

You are expecting George W Bush to understand a fine point in engineering ? [/ QUOTE ] I would expect him to understand what he was briefed on and what the engineers anticipated. |

Re: Bush and the Levees
[ QUOTE ]
The 12:10 PM NWS bulletin is particularly chilling. I can't resist the cheap shot: Was President Bush eating birthday cake at this time, or had he already made it to the golf resort? [/ QUOTE ] It was a cheap shot. You should have resisted it. BTW - What was Gov doing? |

Re: Bush and the Levees
No way I should have resisted that. These things write themselves.
Governor Blanco was probably hard at work figuring out the logistics of her day of prayer. |
