Default Racist and offensive avatars

Not sure where this post belongs.
Anyone one else offended by certain avatars?

Does anyone else not want to look at PairOfElevens avatar when browsing through the forum?

It is a rather nauseating image of the gaping mouth of a toothless Jim Crow caricature.

Link to one of his posts

I'm not African American, by the way, nor particularly politically correct. I'd just rather not have to watch these images on an otherwise terrific forum. His posts are otherwise rather good.

Please feel free to flame the newbie.

Done. Wasn't aware of this option.
Told you I was a newbie.

The forum will now be a much more pleasant experience.

Thank you

No flame...

Near the bottom of the forum listing (to your left), you'll find "Forum Suggestions." Kind of mis-leading because a lot of questions are quickly and politely answered there. Enjoy your 2+2 venture and g/l.

The problem with this is that doing just this, without providing feedback to the management, doesn't put any pressure on the twit in question to change his avatar.

Offensive avatars have actually been discussed recently amongst the moderators. If you're offended I would highly suggest reporting the avatar to the moderator of the forum or directly to Mat.

Personally, I really haven't found anyone's avatar to be offensive. What I would find offensive is 2+2 caving in to the ravings of a dozen or so people who do find them offensive when avatars can be simply be turned off. I realize that 2+2 might just be trying to play the C.Y.A game, but I haven't seen anything pornographic or anything that can be viewed as a personal attack against another poster.

One more thing, to the OP, don't venture into the politics forum. Your head might explode.
