Default dell 9300 configurations for 4-tabling

i am about to purchase the dell 9300 and would like some opinions on upgrades. i would solely be using this computer for 4 tabling with poker tracker and GT+ open. i would of course be upgrading to the wuxga screen for this but am clueless about other upgrades. price is not a limitation but i dont want to be wasteful considering this is soley a poker machine.

1) is Intel® Pentium M Processor 740 sufficient or upgrade to 750, 760, or 770?

2) is 512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM sufficient or upgrade to 1gig or 2gigs?

3) is ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 64MB sufficient or upgrade to 128MB ATIs™ Mobility Radeon or 256MB NVIDA® GeForce?

4) is Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless sufficient or upgrade to Intel® PRO 2915 and Dell 350 Bluetooth Internal Wireless Cards?

thanx.

I wouldnt bother with the memory option because they charge you too much, and it's easy to replace or add more. The processor and graphics card aren't, so just in case you want it to fly or play games on or whatever, I'd go for the faster options, they can't hurt. 770/780 or whatever is probably bit overkill though, 760 would be fine at 2 Ghz M.

If I were you I would go for 7200rpm hard drive too, it will make a difference with accesses to the database that PokerTracker does, especially with 8Mb cache.

I just got the 9300 about 2 weeks ago. I only have 512 of ram and I've been 5-tabling with no problem or slowdown, while also running ptracker, gt+, aim, Web Browser, Virus Protection. However, future programs are always using more and more ram, so if you can afford it, it can't hurt. I have the 64 meg video card and have no problems. I also have the basic internal wireless card, and it is very good (gets a better connection than my old pcmcia card).

Hmm, wish I had thought of this 2 weeks ago.

I ordered one today (last day they are giving £300 off for us Europeans) so it's the only reason I know about all of the options, lol

I did seriously consider more RAM, but at £94 at least for an extra 256Mb, it was a ripoff. You can get a 512Mb stick alone for £40 odd that works with the 9300.

The 740 is fast enough, unless you think you need the latest and greatest.

If you do not play games do not upgrade the video card, any of them will work fine for 2D applications.

I would upgrade the ram myself later. Dell overcharges for memory, about twice what it is worth I think. I paid 112.50 for 1G to upgrade my machine from newegg.

The 7200 RPM hard drive might help with pokertracker. I wish I would have thought of this when I bought mine.

The 2200 works fine for B/G wireless, I think the 2915 adds in A but you usually do not see that anywhere. I wish I had the bluetooth card in mine, I would buy a bluetooth wireless mouse, the mouse I have now requires an external USB dongle, bluetooth would be nicer. I might still add in the bluetooth card in the near future.

In addition to what others have said, get the 9-cell battery.

I just got the included 6 cell battery because it appears that you can get the 9 cell off of ebay for $79
