Default August Goals Post

Time to make your goals for the next month. I'll start it off.

1. 30k hands, doing more than double what I played last month while being lazy.

2. $5k in winnings, rakeback, bonuses, etc

3. Reread Inside the Poker Mind and Psychology of Poker

4. Fulfill my lifting 4 times a week goal from last month

5. An extension of my personal unstated goal from last month, once again all thats important is that I know its here

1. Continue to live vicariously through smileyEH, Einbert, baronzeus, Eeegah, and dmbFAN23's ring game success while I rot away in Iraq. Find a new and entertaining way of telling them to piss off every time they double up on the day.

2. Become obsessive compulsive and read most of the posts made by people like Joe Tall, Entity, GuyOnTilt, and that kind of group. If I feel particularly frisky, dip into the archives and learn more from them there.

3. Read SSHE again. I may know more about his book than Ed does at this point. Good god would someone get me to a poker table, please.

4. Read HoH1. This is one that will take the entire month for sure, but I'd like to finally knock this one out. I'm a losing tournament player hoping to become a winning tournament player. This as good a place as any to start.

5. Allow the other person on my shift to live through August.

6. 100% in Grand Theft Auto : Vice City. It kills the time.

7. Indepth study of Game Theory, which it turns out is not as simple as "do random [censored] once in a while."

8. Earn 24 college credits through CLEP testing.

1. Play 20k hands. probably not going to make this one, but i feel I should try.

2. make 5k total. I did just over 4k in July over 15k hands. I'm moving up limits, so i think 5k is a good hopeful number that optimistically assumes I'll keep winning.

3. start running as often as i was this time last year.

4. do a century on my new bike.

5. ask out that chick i was talking to at the bar last night.

1. 20k hands.

2. Take a shot at 10/20 full. Let's say 3 session minimum.

3. Continue playing well at 3/6 and 5/10 full.

4. Post an actual winning rate at 3/6 short.

5. Finish HePfAP. I'm serious this time.

6. 30 post minimum (note to self: currently at 358.)

7. Lose 5 pounds.

1. get back to more strat posting instead of the sports, politics, and OOT posting that I ahve been doing mroe of lately, and be sure to post interesting hands right after a session instead of saying I'll do it and then not do it the next day

2. get in 20K hands

3. get back to playing 5/10 full and 3/6 6

4. Only make the full move up to 5/10 full when I have 400BBs for it, but start taking shots at 320BBs

5. lose two inches off the waist

6.get that [censored] job that I've been whining about

7. finally get the mixed game home game going at my place at least once a week

8. play a few more tournies and some some more variety in cash games(stud, PLO, NL, O8, etc)

9. play 4 sngs a week just to change the norm

10. make accounts at stars, UB, and full tilt and be sure to get in the enough $$$ to get the full desposit bonus everytime

I'm on vacation most of the month. I hope to get in some live play in Nova Scotia. Folks over in B&M say it's a well-run, small room. They spread 5-10 and 10-20 mostly which in US is 4-8, 8-16 by the looks of it.

In any case, my poker goals will be thin for the month.

1. Finish HoH II.

2. Reread SSH -- just started last night.

3. I really want to resolve my trouble handling downswings and bad sessions. I feel like I'm getting there but I'm not sure how to make progress this month when I will be playing so little.

4. At least 4 hours of hiking, kayaking and/or canoeing a day during vacation on average. Come back in decent enough shape to start running again.

5. Think about goals for September.
