Eventually you reach a point of diminishing returns, though. I used to buy Levi's jeans for $40-50 a pair (that's how much you end up paying when you have to get 38-40 inch inseams). I now buy Lucky brand jeans for $75-80, and I agree there is a significant improvement in fit and comfort. However, I doubt there would be much of an improvement if I was to buy some designer brand $300 jeans. Similarly there is a huge improvement in performance between say a $25,000 Honda Accord and a $50,000 Corvette, but not much of one between that Corvette and a $500,000 Ferrari. Although I've never driven an Enzo (+$500,000 ferrari) I'm sure I would have a much better time driving an Enzo vs a Corvette.

He is buying us shirts and ties (really nice ones, actually), and we are supposed to buy this specific pair of pants. It's an outdoor wedding on the hottest day of the year, so he was just trying to help us not die.
