Eventually you reach a point of diminishing returns, though. I used to buy Levi's jeans for $40-50 a pair (that's how much you end up paying when you have to get 38-40 inch inseams). I now buy Lucky brand jeans for $75-80, and I agree there is a significant improvement in fit and comfort. However, I doubt there would be much of an improvement if I was to buy some designer brand $300 jeans. Similarly there is a huge improvement in performance between say a $25,000 Honda Accord and a $50,000 Corvette, but not much of one between that Corvette and a $500,000 Ferrari.

I don't think this works on two levels:
a. That Accord will surely last longer.
b. Although I've never driven an Enzo (+$500,000 ferrari) I'm sure I would have a much better time driving an Enzo vs a Corvette.

the real question is why aren't you wearing a suit to the wedding?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, I'm actually one of the groomsmen, and the groom decided he wanted us to all wear this specific outfit.

He is buying us shirts and ties (really nice ones, actually), and we are supposed to buy this specific pair of pants.

It's an outdoor wedding on the hottest day of the year, so he was just trying to help us not die.

Seriously, I'll let you know when I spend less than $100 on a pair of pants.

Usually about $90, maybe $49.99 if I can get them on sale.

WOW. That's ridiculously expensive for such a cheap looking hat. Does anyone actually buy that?

Why would anyone buy a cheap looking hat like that for 50-100? I thought you could get hats like that for 3?
