An Incredibly Mundane Question About Cold-Calling

Back to SSHE basic questions about the table that your individual stats do not answer... How many people play a "typical" hand? Remember, our basic assumption is of LOOSE (7+ players), not tight play until proven wrong in a small stakes game. Have you seen other players behind you cold call before? Or do they promptly El foldo to a raise? QJs can be a sweet hand under the right multi-way conditions. But you didn't tell us what game this is - 2/4 or 20/40!! You are smart enough to be testing your repliers. I am trying to avoid making ASSumptions that can make an *SS out of U and ME!! LOL. Under the above - I say PLAY IT because you did not provide me a reason NOT to make the cold call. Those reasons may exist, but not in information you provided.

What about this...An EP player open raised, no one else has entered the pot, and you have QJ. I fold this at 2/4 and 20/40 so I don't see why the limit really matters.

Thanks guys. I'll chalk it up to lack of discipline.

Had I been behind the laggy player and he had already folded it was certainly a fold. I figured it was fairly likely he would call and probably encourage another call. This didn't happen.

If I play this I reraise I think you buy enough FE with one more SB that it is +EV compared with coldcalling.

I don't like playing this agianst a rock or whatever you like calling this 15/12 player.

However I believe that you can coldcall or reraise with KQ so can QJs be that much worse. I think not, but I still think you should try and find other players to do this "move" against.

1. Cold-calling or reraising a solid EP raiser with KQo is pretty bad.

2. KQ and QJ are hugely different. There are like twice as many hands which dominate QJ as which dominate KQ.
