Pokerstars now has 3+0,4 turbos.

I've often wondered (not for long) why nobody has come up with a vig-free SNG platform (at higher levels too)

Because poker rooms want to make money. At super low limits it might seem like it makes sense, to encourage people to play them. Thing is, people who play super low limits don't care if there is vig or not. They probally don't even know what it is. Mid-higher limits it's just silly, since the players who care about vig recognize it as the cost of doing business with the poker room. The lower vig on stars turbos doesn't stop many serious players playing at party.

FWIW, Bodog has $4+.40 "beginner" 10-player sng's that payout the top 5.

Those are probably a nice low variance way to get started.
