Default **Katrina Relief Tournament #1 Tues. 9/6 Paradise Poker**

Hi all,

I am posting this tournament recap on behalf of myself and the two heroes that did most of the organizing..

This tournament is a result of the efforts of Slacker13 and JasonHoldem. I have simply been the liason for Paradise and helped with some of the technical aspects to get it launched.

Great job J & J !!

OKEY,

DA DETAILS!!

Announcing the Katrina Relief Tournament
When: Tuesday, September 6 @ 8pm EST
Where: Paradise Poker ("Katrina Relief" under the Private tournament tab)
Format: NLHE R&A
Buy-in: $10

Rebuys & Add-ons: Unlimited $10 Rebuys for the hour, one $10 add-on at the first break
Additional Details: 50% of the prize pool will be donated to the American Red Cross for the relief effort, in addition Paradise Poker will match this donation. Way to go Paradise! Thank you!

For those who cannot attend the event but would like to donate to the relief effort

A special donation account has been created at Paradise Poker under the username katrinahelp. If you would like to donate simply go to the "options" tab and click "send money to a player" then under player name type katrinahelp.

Important: The confirmation pop-up should say "Hurricane Relief" be sure to check to make sure you are sending it to the proper account. Also, if you have sent a donation please copy the email to Slacker's PM (you may remove personal info of course) the reason for this is we would like to provide a list on the forum and also with the red cross check when it is sent.

Next Wednesday, Granny will provide a detailed accounting of all funds raised through the direct contribution account as well as the tourney proceeds.

Bounty's

Granny has placed a $50 bounty on herself which will be split between the relief fund and the bounty hunter (each will get $25);however, if granny is eliminated with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] the bounty will increase to $150 to be split the same way (each will get $75)

Slacker 13 is also placing a $50 Bounty on his head to be split between fund and bounty hunter. My Paradise handle is XR622 (my old license number).

jasonHoldEm is also placing a $50 Bounty on his head to be split in the same fashion. He is jasonHoldEm at paradise.

*** The player portion of the above bounties is open to forum members who regged prior to the start of the tournament only. The relief fund portion will be sent regardless of who knocks us out. ***

Please feel free to add bounties and last longer bets, with a portion of these going to the katrinahelp account that paradise has established for transfers.

For those who do not have a Paradise Poker Account

Finally, those that do not have a paradise account should use this link to set up new acct. ALL PROFITS FROM YOUR SIGN-UP GO INTO THE RELIEF FUND. Make sure you take the 25%, new acct. bonus when signing up. Directions for this bonus are available when entering through below link. Check 'promotions' tab, or look for new account banner on right side.

Thanks to paradise for matching the prize pool cut. Dig deep folks. These people are gambling folk on the gulf coast. They are family.

The gulfport airport has just been converted to a hospital. This is devastating and we should feel lucky if we were not effected and happy to help our brothers and sisters that were. There may be thousands dead, and certainly the gaming industry on the Gulf Coast is destroyed for now. However, people need food and water for now. I have friends I can't find, and I see that all the posters from the area have not made it back to the forum.

God help them and their families. Our prayers that they survived will go a long way, but for now, the need is CASH.

Feel free to register for the tournament NOW. The more registered, the more players we will attract. Tell your friend's, cross post this everywhere! We need lots of players!

Finally, I know that stars is doing 2 tournaments in about 10 days. WTG!! Hopefully the mods will sticky those tourney details a few days before the event.

However, if we could possibly get this thread stickied now, it would help attendance a TON. We only need it "stuck" for next 5 days.

Michael?? Matt?? lil' help here please?
TIA

Any questions, please post them here or PM slacker13 or jasonHoldEm.

I will just be handling the technical and financial stuff, these two are the directors and their word is final on all issues regarding this event.

Dig DEEP!!

REBUY REBUY REBUY

Thanks to all!!

Default Sign Up Today! Very Worthy Cause!

Paradise Poker has been generous enough to open up the tourney to early registrations. What this means is you can still donate even if you cannot play, you will just be blinded off. Remember, Paradise Poker is matching our donations here so it is important to take advantage of that offer.

No password needed. Make sure to tell everyone possible.
This is for a very worthy cause.

Thanks to everyone who participates.

Thank you. I put in a request to have it stickied but I assume they are away at the moment. I am sure they will help us out when they are back online.

Thanks to Slacker, Jason and Granny for your efforts. The ZOO is really a special place! Can I add a $50 bounty on me? If I am unable to play I will donate the $50 to the relief fund. I made this post a sticky. I am sure Mat will approve.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

Sorry I did not respond earlier but I am not receiving my email notifies. I am afraid I may have a remote or keylogger virus and don't want to type in my email password. More information regarding my problem is in the computer technical help forum.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn
