You played the second one wrong. Raise more preflop. It tends to push out Q6c.

2nd hand: you know your mistake. Lame bets like his are typically the following:

1. lame steal attempts.
2. attempts to draw cheaply.
3. big hands hoping to be raised.

In my experience 1 and 2 seem to be more prevalent than 3.

I feel that betting the pot on every round is the best way to avaoid this (of course as long as the board is not very scary), sometimes you play against people that will draw to anything for any price, but you will make more money from them than they will from you. Trust the force.

And raise 4x the big blind everytime you pick up a big hand, saves you a lot of second guessing.

Generally with big hands at this level you need 6xBB to sift out the rubbish.

On the first hand I would have bet much more on the flop. There was no way he had kings (by his pre-flop play) so by betting high you could represent the kings well.

On the second hand it would actually have been much easier to represent a big hand. Since you only raised a mini-raise pre-flop he is unlikely to put you on a big pair. A decent bet on the flop would probably have him wondering if you have the tens.
Once you have reached the turn and the flop there was no other way you could have played it.

One other point: with calls like that don't scare him away. He is the sort of player you want around.

(Note: since he lives near you maybe he has binoculars and is peeking in on you)

raise and bet more on just about every opportunity you had.

hand 1:
flop - raise to $4
turn - raise to $9

hand 2:
preflop - make a pot raise
flop - raise to $3
turn - raise to $5

Hand 1: Raise more preflop, raise to about 4 on the flop, raise to about 9 on the turn. With the higher pf raise pick a flop or turn raise and go with it.

Hand 2: NO MINRAISING WITH AA! Again raise to about 3 on the flop and see what happens from there. This guy sounds like he sucks so I think that you are just gonna have to charge him insane amounts to draw and rake the nice pots when he doesnt hit.

Good river check. I'd put him on A7, AT, two clubs or or KK mabe here.

Yes, I was tired when I posted. Didn't notice the min-raise on hand 2.
