Default Vegas NL game question

Haven't been to Vegas since the Series, and everything was warped back then anyways because of the action at the Rio...where are the best $2-5 and $5-10ish NL games in Vegas? The $300 cap buy-in at the Bellagio and the games at the Wynn were pretty good, as well as the Palms last time I was there. My friend and I are coming in for the weekend and beginning of next week to play some live NL and escape the online limit grind. Any suggestions from the regulars there?

Most 2/5 games in town are good. It really depends on the day and time of year or specific venue going on (i.e. WSOP @ Rio or month of special tournaments at Palms). If you want to play some deep games with 2/5, then I suggest the only place in town, Wynn. Bellagio is $200 cap BTW, and you can earn higher rates per hour at most other 2/5 games in town.

As for $5/10, the only casino regulary spreading it is Wynn. It can be deep at times, good at times, bad at times. Usually if there is a must-move, the game will be good. On weekends, this game can get fantastic.

I know Palms and MGM will SOMETIMES spread $5/10. I only played in each once. The Palms was a chop fest (although I have heard it is normally good), and the MGM was amazing.

You can always sit in Bellagio $10/20 game short and give it one shot. Just don't let yourself go on tilt if you lose or put in an amount you can't afford to lose. This can also be a good game on weekends and sometimes during the week, especially during certain venues. Whenever there are tournaments for WPT or something in town, Bellagio 10/20 crawls with fish juice.

The best month for me in Vegas was back during March Madness when the WPT Championship @ Bellagio was in town. There were always 5-6 tables of must-must-...etc., -move games going and usually all, but the last one or two were GREAT. I lost the biggest pot of my life that month and have not won a pot close to that size and it was still the most profitable month I have had ever.

Great report and consistent with my experience although I'm not there near as frequently as you.

It was a particularly juicy Saturday night towards the middle of the month, which had been incredible to me (+ ~20K in 1/2 month). I sat in a 10/20 NL game at the Bellagio when it was really in the groove back when the tables were outside during contstruction, but they had all the extra tourney tables out for the WPT. I was normally sitting with $2-6K at the first must-... , -move game depending on game conditions and most people at this table didn't have too much. I just sat with $2K. I ran well and was at ~$5K when I got to the 2nd table. At this table in seat 1 was some extremely rich kid who is family friends with Bill Gates, seat 2 Phil Laak, seat 3 Jennifer Tilly (don't know about now, but she was still learning and sucked back then), and me in seat 4. The stacks were DEEP. This kid in seat one had 40K in his shirt pockets hanging out in cash as well as the same on the table. He was piss drunk and going all in on almost every flop.

I decided this was a good shot to win some money becuase Phil is normally a loose cannon in this game and the kid was nuts and rich. I pulled out 2 flag chips and announced them into my pile.

I got dealt AA in EMP

Phil makes it $80 to go UTG (~$25K) (he was actually playing pretty tight thus far, either rebuying for Tilly or talking to fellow pros playing higher stakes)

I make it $400 to go with AA (~$15K) (I knew the crazy rich guy might raise this and AT LEAST call and possibly put me in on the flop.

The Rich Kid (~$40K) calls in the BB as does Phil

The flop AK5 rainbow ($1210)

To my suprise Phil leads out for about $800

I decide to call and tempt the kid into making a mistake and he did

Rich Kid goes all in for $40K.

Phil immediatly folds and laughs and I call in a heartbeat and flip over my AA.

He starts shaking his head as the turn comes Q and the river comes T, still shaking. He is about to much his hand as Phil points out that he has a J on the bottom of his mucking cards (which made the nuts), Phil grabs his cards and flips them over. He had J4. Rich Kid rakes in nice pot and I get up and wish everyone good luck. I was pretty upset that night, mostly for allowing myself to put that much money into play at once. Anything can happen.

The cards ran hot for the rest of the month and I had an unbelievable run of cards whenever I played 10/20 or 25/50 for the rest of the month.

I'm pretty sure if that happened to me I'd have spent the night in jail after throwing my chair at Laak.

Well I am kind of mad at Laak, but I did lose the hand.
